  • Physiotherapist (BSc)

Hi, my name is Tarryn and I’m so glad you’re here! I am a Physiotherapist who since graduating from Curtin University in Perth, has pursued a Physiotherapy career through the lens of a passion in Paediatrics. My favourite placement was being across all outpatient departments of Perth Children’s Hospital and I have the privilege to continue to work in my dream field.

My work experience includes having worked for a NDIS provider in Perth with clients aged 6 months to 70 years old. This gave me a broad exposure to managing disability with conditions inclusive of global developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, genetic syndromes, neuromuscular conditions like muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and intellectual disability. In addition, the role gave me the opportunity to liaise with Perth Children’s Hospital outpatient departments and many local equipment and assistive technology providers which increased my knowledge base to advocate for the holistic needs of my clients. My husband and I then had the year of our lives in East Arnhem Land where I supported much needed assessments of children to gain access to the NDIS under the early childhood approach – this service was a clearly identified need in the community and I was supported to implement this program through a brilliant local practice. This consolidated my skills in comprehensive assessment and deeply increased my understanding on the NDIS as whole.

I have further training in Paediatrics through courses run through the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and two post graduate certificates in Enhancing Skills in Paediatrics and Managing Chronic and Complex Paediatric Conditions through Monash University. I have completed my APA Level 1 training in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy which is often a necessary adjunct of knowledge required for managing complex little ones.

Now in the South West of Western Australia, I am excited to be providing a necessary service which combines my previous years of experience and enables me to bring the knowledge of working in a metropolitan region (and a very remote region!) with the contacts for a high quality service locally. I look forward to getting to know you and your child, and being a provider who takes pride in making a meaningful difference in their life.
